Tool # 9

From what I understood from the videos, Jing is for capturing images and making videos and Screencast the place to share and save such information. Maybe Kindergarten students could be taught to capture images they like and save them using their personal username and password. I think that will take a lot of effort. Please correct if I am wrong, but for Kindergarten students to use Jing, a video should be already recorded and saved and ready to be presented with visual and audio components and that involves Jing and Screencast. When the images in the video relate to the objectives or skills we want to teach and at the same time with an explanation to students on how to follow instructions on the video, students can get help in any subject or skill while teachers monitor their learning and students watch the video.

And through Skype we can invite authors to read stories to the entire class or to more than one class. We can also access professional development opportunities such as conference presentations.

Tool #7

It is a tool that requires many details to set it up. I tried to edit it including more pictures and music, but my nephew Jorge had to guide me. But with patience and time, I can set up digital stories with the purpose of teaching sequence, bginning, middle, and end and can use also as visuals.

Tool#6

We can put students in groups and let them write sight words they know and direct them to edit each other's words within a group. It is a handy tool when asking staff for input or participation on things that we need to get done. To use it in a team is a plus; we can organize items, information, etc. when planning for a field trip, a party, or a document for school and even for input on designing instructional requirements.

Tool#4

Using this template, "Project Management Schedule", from Google docs, is one way we can keep track of students' progress, keep track of field trips, parties, etc., and other activities by applying color coding to see flagged items in red, blue, etc. Color codes can be used to reflect the order of importance and to remind us of future important things to do. This template have been shared with another team member for comments and editing purposes.

Google reader is a convenient way to follow other blogs and keep updated. The blogs I am following are "First Blog, Kinder Tech, RGE Technology, Rosaura's Blogs. In the future, I am planning to follow a variety of blogs that will meet my interests.

tool #3

It is a little bit confusing to me right now because there are many things to remember, but with practice I will get ready to use Wordle and Flickr to make bulleting boards, journals concerning a particular subject, and related pictures saved and used for teaching. I would also want to learn how to use "bookr" so students can visualize the information. I think all these tools can help to enhance education. I worked on a book about plants, but technical difficulties were encountered at the time to publish it.

Tool #5

www.teachscienceandmath.com/...using-interactive-white-boards

www.kbears.com/geography.html

To find these webs, first I typed in the tag "phonics", then chose a link that allowed me to choose -Interactive whiteboards supports teachers and Interactive Geography Site. It is very useful in the classroom because it supports teachers to reach all levels of learners by integrating math and cience together with text, sound, video, and graphics using IWB for tactile purposes.

What makes it even more efficient is that any computer can be used for that purpose in any place we are and at any time we want or need to use it.

Tool #2

This is a great opportunity to update our methods in learning ourselves and educating children. As technology change continuosly and rapidly, we as educators must use the resources on hand. We have to guide children in a way that they can understand that technology is a way to improve our quality of living and not an instrument to replace human interaction with one another, what is the basis for empathy and care. I am thrilled to learn, but I don't want to be overwhelmed and buried with time in the depth of knowledge. I want to learn to use what is relevant, what is needed at a particular time in order to provide quality education, not quantity, and also paired with the human touch. We should be cautious with the time it takes to go around the world. Let's learn without putting -at stake the human element which is priceless and non-negotiable.

Tool #1

It was very, very easy to set up the blog, of course with Hudson's help. I'm looking forward to get acquainted with it and personalize my instruction and communication with other teachers.
